Bus routes are served both by municipal transport enterprises and privately owned ones. Municipal motor transport uses more spacious buses with higher comfort. Private transporters (jitneys) use mostly buses with lesser spaciousness and comfort conformably.

Ground electrotrunsport is presented with trams and trolleybuses that have highly branched routes network. Tram Route 2 serves the central part of the city and is named as City Circle (Gorodskoye Koltso in Russian). Its geometry is a circle with both directions traffic - the internal and external circles. Generally all the major sights of the historical part of the city are concentrated inside the City Circle.

The underground is being in development state. At present it serves only the downtown part. Today the completion phase of construction of the underground lines to the uptown part of the city is going. The metro-bridge is nearly built over the Oka river and the underground stations are being built. As complete the downtown and uptown parts will get connected by the underground going out from the depth to cross the river. In sum there are 3 bridges in the city today.
